FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Young Touchstone Leverages Benefits of Copper/Brass Brazing for Heavy-Duty MarketsNew York – The International Copper Association announces that Young Touchstone, a Wabtec company (NYSE:WAB), is now making CuproBraze® heat exchangers on its new CuproBraze production line in Jackson, Tennessee. The company, which designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of heat-exchanger cores, is now a leading manufacturer of CuproBraze products in North America. The new CuproBraze line follows from eight years of product development and testing. It includes a continuous brazing furnace that is large enough to process virtually any heat-exchanger product, allowing Young Touchstone to deliver superior products at lower cost to its OEM customers. Recently, the company introduced the DS2 line of FLAT-ROUND® CuproBraze radiators. Young Touchstone’s FLAT-ROUND® technology provides the advantages of flat tubes (for superior airflow and heat transfer) and round tube-ends (for exceptional durability of tube-to-header joints). FLAT-ROUND and CuproBraze technologies together allow for the use of new brazed serpentine-fin designs. The result is tough, efficient cooling systems. Such designs have decisive advantages over other core technologies such as soldered copper/brass plate fin, soldered copper/brass serpentine fin and brazed aluminum serpentine fin. “CuproBraze will allow us to increase our pace of innovation with respect to cooling system weight, cost, size and durability,” explains Jim Jenkins, President of Young Touchstone.
